Reminder: Crown Heights Grant Proposals Due September 23 

Grants ranging from $5,000 - $25,000 will support advocacy and organizing projects by Crown Heights nonprofits, community groups, and residents working in four areas:

  • Housing Rights
  • Cross Cultural Learning & Relationship Building
  • Youth Opportunities
  • Transparent and Accountable Policing

Proposals are due by Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Grants will be distributed through our Neighborhood Strength initiative and will be announced this November.

The Progressive Education Network's National Conferencewill take place in Brooklyn from October 8-10. The conference will feature keynote speaker Fania Davis as well as workshops on teaching access, equity, and activism. Sliding scale registration is available. Register by August 31st here.

The Black Social Change Survey seeks to map Black-led community organizations, grassroots groups, activism projects, churches, fraternities, sororities, schools and more across the country. Help make the case for supporting Black leaders and organizations by completing the survey here.
